"The Drino"
Our Single Origin Coffee is named after the late, great Drino Miller. Drino was the first to build successful single-seater Baja Race cars, the second of which placed him as the overall winner of the 1970 Baja 1000. Although he was a successful racer, car designer and accomplished boat builder and sailor, it's his collaboration with Stanford Havens and the creation of Miller-Havens Enterprises that makes him a hero.
Miller-Havens designed and brought to market the first fiberglass Baja Bug kit in 1969. The company also coined the term 'Baja Bug', as early homemade Bajas were referred to as 'Choppers' at the time.
This coffee is made with beans sourced from farms in Mexico, making it an ideal tribute coffee to the Baja Bug and the Baja 1000 race. Join us in raising a great cup of coffee to Drino!
As our own tribute, we've created The Drino blend and added a few images here of Drino's finest creations from back in the day.
